Partners have various platform to learn and build their skills on the job, related to coffee and develop behavioural competencies like working with the team, customer service etc. One of the major learning tools provided to the all the partners in the organisation is the Starbucks Global Academy which is an online learning platform developed by Starbucks in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), only for Starbucks Partners.

We have been strong advocate of helping our partners achieve the right balance, irrespective of role and function.

5 days work week and flexible employment terms

All partners across the organisation enjoys two week offs in a week. We are the first QSR in India to have implemented a 5 day work week for all Store partners. Tata Starbucks offers Flexible Employment opportunities to students, working mothers, homemakers belonging to varied backgrounds. The company also encourages the change in employment terms – converting from Part Time to Full Time or vice versa, depending on the requirements of our partners to balance their personal and professional commitments at different life stages. To further support women partners balance personal and professional commitments, we have a clearly defined limits on shift timings for women.

Physical and Mental Wellness

There is a strong focus on driving initiatives that enhance both the physical and mental wellbeing of our partners. Majority of our partners avail the benefit of an annual health check-up offered by the company. The company also ensures coverage of all partners under ESIC or Group Medical Insurance, as applicable, ensuring each partner is supported in the case of a medical need.

We have recently launched a counselling helpline called iCall, for all our partners and their families. iCall is a free telephonic and email based counselling facility extended in association with Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Give back to the community


Each Starbucks® store is a part of a community, and we’re committed to strengthening neighbourhoods wherever we do business. We can be a force for positive action – bringing together our partners, customers and the community to contribute every day. Each store undertakes community services once in 3 months by identifying meaningful volunteering opportunities ranging from Cleanliness, Education and skilling. Tata Starbucks has partnered with Tata Strive (an Tata Group skill development initiative, addressing the pressing need of skilling India's youth for employment, entrepreneurship and community enterprise) to provide vocational training to over 3000 youths over the coming 5 years

Tata Starbucks partners with several other institutes in addition to Tata Strive such as Antarang Foundation, Teach India, Edubridge etc. with a view to make a sustainable impact to the community by supporting education and skilling initiatives spanning across the nation.
